Here’s what I believe: your child isn’t broken, and neither are you.

  • Exhausted from nightly battles over what’s for dinner
  • Worried your child isn’t getting enough nutrition
  • Frustrated that nothing you’ve tried seems to work
  • Stressed about mealtimes that used to be enjoyable
  • Overwhelmed by conflicting advice from pediatricians, well-meaning relatives, and the internet
  • Anxious about your child’s growth, limited diet, or food refusal

If any of that sounds like your house, you are in the right place.

You’re not alone if you’re feeling…

Jill Garrison Registered Dietitian

I’m Jill.

I’m a Registered Dietitian with 17 years of clinical experience, based in Edmonton, Alberta. I’ve spent most of that time working with children and families navigating feeding challenges — picky eating, ARFID, starting solids, food allergies, gut health, and the complicated reality of getting a family fed.

I’m also a mom of three. Which means I know what it looks like when mealtimes fall apart, and I know how much it matters to get them right.

TableTalk Nutrition is a smaller, more intentional registered dietitian practice based in Edmonton, Alberta. When you’re here, I’m actually paying attention to your situation — not handing you a generic plan and hoping it fits.

Not sure where to start? Book a free clarity call.

Before you book anything, you can have a short, free 15-minute conversation to talk through what's happening and whether TableTalk Nutrition is a good fit for your family or your situation.

There's no pitch at the end. The goal is simple: leave with a clearer sense of whether this is the right place for you, and if it is, what the best next step looks like.

You're not committing to anything. You're just getting clarity.

Questions worth asking before you book

Honest answers about how this works, what to expect, and whether TableTalk Nutrition is the right fit for your family.

No referral needed. You can book directly — a clarity call, an initial assessment, whatever feels like the right first step. Some insurance plans do require a referral for reimbursement, so it's worth a quick check with your provider before your first appointment, but you don't need one to get started with me.

Most extended health plans in Alberta cover dietitian services, often at 80–100%. Alberta Blue Cross, Manulife, Canada Life, Sun Life, Great West Life, Green Shield, and many employer plans all include dietitian coverage. I provide detailed receipts through Practice Better for easy submission. If you're not sure what your plan covers, a quick call to your insurance provider before we start is the best way to find out.

Initial assessments are 60 minutes. Follow-up sessions are 45 minutes or 30 minutes depending on what makes sense for your situation. I also offer a free 15-minute clarity call before you commit to anything — it's a chance to talk through what's going on and see if we're a good fit.

A device with a camera — phone, tablet, or computer — a reliable internet connection, and a reasonably quiet space. We meet through Practice Better, which is a secure platform designed for healthcare. You'll get a link ahead of your appointment. Baby on your lap or toddler in the background? Completely fine. Real family life is welcome here.

It depends on the child's age and what we're working on. For most young children, I work primarily with parents — you are the one at the table every day, and supporting you is central to the work. For older children and teens, I may meet with them directly or use a combination approach. We figure out what makes sense for your child together.

I provide meal planning guidance, examples, and practical structure — but I don't hand you a rigid plan and expect you to follow it perfectly. What I'm actually trying to do is help you understand what's driving the challenge so you can make confident decisions for your family, not just execute a document. A plan that doesn't fit your kitchen, your schedule, or the people at your table isn't much of a plan.

As long as you have enough connection for a video call, we can work together. If video isn't consistently reliable, we can problem-solve from there. Location has never been a reason a family couldn't get support.

That's exactly what the free clarity call is for. It's 15 minutes, no pitch at the end, and no pressure to book anything. You talk through what's going on, I tell you honestly whether I think I can help and what that would look like, and you leave with more clarity than you came in with — whether you book with me or not.
